PUROCEPT Series multi-zone depth filter cartridges provide high performance filtration of fluids in a wide range of applications. This series of high performance filter cartridges is manufactured with a proprietary microprocessor controlled process that creates a highly consistent product. The polypropylene materials of construction are chemically inert—allowing PUROCEPT cartridges to be used in a wide range of demanding applications.
Purolator’s proprietary PuroZone technology allows the creation of multiple zones within the depth of the filter cartridge. Each zone contains a matrix of declining diameter fibers. This multi-zone design produces a gradient pore structure, which thoroughly captures larger particles in the upstream layers of the filter while efficiently capturing smaller particles in the inner layers. Purolator has optimized each PUROCEPT filter grade to provide high efficiency filtration and mechanical strength.

3 lines of filters exist primarily in this category; PUROCEPT, EPIC C and
EPIC II. See below for their descriptions and applicability.

EPIC C Series filter cartridges were developed by Purolator to provide consistent filtration in a wide range of liquid process applications. The EPIC C Series filter cartridges are constructed of 100% melt blown polypropylene fibers that are blown onto a high strength polypropylene center core. The tortuous path created by melt blown microscopic fibers results in efficient removal of particles and gels from process streams.
The automated manufacturing process used to produce EPIC C Series cartridges uses high purity polypropylene resin to produce a final product that is free of surfactants, anti-static agents, binders and adhesives. As a result, EPIC C Series will not leach potentially harmful particles into process streams. EPIC C Series meet all regulatory guidelines for use in food, potable water, beverage and pharmaceutical applications.
EPIC C Series filter cartridges are available in removal ratings from 0.5 to 100 µm and in continuous lengths from 4 to 50 inches. Purolator can provide EPIC C Series filter cartridges in most commercially available configurations to retrofit existing filter cartridges.
